Women with cardiovascular disease face unique reproductive
health challenges across the lifespan, yet many report unmet
counseling needs, limited care coordination, and barriers to
informed decision-making. In this expert-led session, faculty
explore how life course and reproductive justice frameworks can
inform reproductive health counseling for patients with cardiac
disease. Participants will learn strategies for discussing
contraception, pregnancy planning, and reproductive goals using the
PATH framework and shared decision-making principles. The program
also highlights the impact of social drivers of health,
multidisciplinary collaboration, and cardiac risk assessment in
supporting safe, equitable, and patient-centered reproductive
care.
